Tribute to Andy Glover

SEAA are sad to announce the death of Andy Glover on 5th December. He was a member of Croydon Harriers and made a huge contribution to the sport of athletics, as a London Region Councillor, President of Surrey County AA, officials' secretary, coach, and international starter. Andy was also involved in training and mentoring many officials.

Andy was recently awarded the London Region Official of the Year award. Tony Shiret, Chair, England Athletics, London Region said, "On behalf of the London Region of England Athletics I would like to express our gratitude for the work that Andy did on behalf of London in his time as a Council member. He is remembered by his many friends in the sport for his contribution to athletics in Surrey over very many years and for his achievements as a starter. In recognition of the latter he was awarded the London Region 2009 award for Services to Officiating. Frances Ratchford (London Councillor, President Ranelagh) offered a tribute to Andy at the London Awards last week, following which glasses were raised in his memory - as we believe he would have wished."
